Chief Operating Officer

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will serve as a critical senior leader charged with leading internal operations and overseeing core functions (Finance, Talent / DEIBA, IT, and Legal). Reporting directly to (and working closely with) the CEO, the COO will help translate PushBlack's strategic vision into a sound operational plan. The COO will directly manage a team of five.

As PushBlack enters its next phase of organizational growth, the COO will play a critical role in designing and implementing the systems, process, and structures to support PushBlack's work. In addition, the COO will be a key culture leader and champion, helping to promote values of Black liberation and a culture rooted in diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging across an entirely remote workforce.

The COO role is an exciting opportunity for a highly strategic operational leader who thrives at leading through times of growth and who is energized by developing people and building sound, inclusive organizational cultures. Writer

We‘re hiring a diligent Writer who can use their creative storytelling skills to help us make Black history more compelling than it’s ever been. The Writer will research Black history and current events, write content, help run experiments, and perform light data analysis to identify the best ways to boost subscriber engagement. That might be through new approaches to how we write, better images, better sharing experiences, or something new they want to try.

They will pitch stories during weekly meetings and to their supervisor, and write compelling, engaging Black history and current events stories using PushBlack’s data-tested format.
