On February 28, 1984, a 25-year-old Michael Jackson sheepishly strolled up to the Grammy podium to claim the awards his 33-times-platinum album so richly deserved.

That night Michael gifted us with some pretty swagged out moments you might’ve forgotten until now.

Of course, he thanked his fans, especially the girls who screamed so loud from the balcony that Michael could barely finish his acceptance speeches.

As the night went on, and Michael snagged his record eighth award, he humbly obliged a request to take off his shades. This brother had so much swag!

He thanked his family and his amazing team and even called some of them on stage with him to share the moment.

But our favorite part of the entire night was when the incomparable Quincy Jones gave the modest superstar the green light to show off his dapper bedazzled outfit with a smooth spin.

RIP MJ! We’ll never forget the mark you made on music history.
