It was just a normal day at the mall for 12-year-old rapper Corey "Lil C Note" Jackson, who was visiting family in Atlanta when a police officer approached and grabbed him, spewing accusations that he was illegally selling CDs.

Lil C Note released camera phone footage that showed him being manhandled by an officer at the Cumberland Mall in Georgia as his aunt filmed.

Now, this young boy is facing felony charges for obstruction of an officer, disorderly conduct with violence, and criminal trespassing! His lawyer denies that Lil C Note was selling CDs at the time of the incident.

“The fact that he snatched me and was trying to drag me around like I’m some criminal that’s stealing, robbing or killing is crazy,” Lil C Note wrote in the video’s caption.

Even rapper T.I. has called out the outrageousness of this case! And many others have joined him. Since Lil C Note’s arrest, people have been protesting at the Cumberland Mall where the incident took place.

Black children are out here being targeted and criminalized for petty offenses - we must speak out to protect them from those who violate their rights and humanity. Who else will?
