Karle Robinson is a 61-year-old man who was working late moving into his home in Tonganoxie, Kansas in 2017. After a long day of work, the police showed up. They told him he was suspicious and drew their guns, detaining him.
Body camera footage shows police stopped him as he was carrying something INTO the house. Not OUT of the house, INTO it. It makes no sense, but Mr. Robinson has it all figured out. He has stated publicly that his race had everything to do with it.
The ACLU of Kansas is on the case representing Mr. Robinson, and they’re describing it as “moving while Black” because apparently, we can’t do anything without being criminalized. The Tonganoxie Police Department wouldn’t even accept his complaint.
You would think that he’s been through enough, but according to the ACLU’s letter, police have followed him around, regularly parked across the street, and “maintained a regular presence at or near Mr. Robinson’s home in the weeks following his detention.”
He wants these cops to lose their jobs and it sounds like they should. Mr. Robinson and Black people all across the country deserve the right to live and move in peace!
