Mass graves are being dug, because morgues are overwhelmed by the bodies coming in as a result of the pandemic.

While some people choose to ignore the tens of thousands of deaths happening as a result of coronavirus (COVID-19), the people digging mass graves have a different story.

People in PRISON are digging these mass graves for as little as $6.00 an hour, according to reporting from The Intercept. This dangerous job - burying infected bodies - has been carried out on New York’s Hart Island.

The situation has only been getting worse, too.

It’s said millions have come into contact with COVID-19, hundreds of thousands have been infected, and so far tens of thousands have died - and that’s just in New York!

This is far and away more serious than the seasonal flu. If it’s not handled decisively, mass graves could be the new normal.

This is happening because of how FAST and deadly it is in comparison. That’s why mass graves are being dug and morgues are being overwhelmed, but there’s no excuse for the way prison labor is being exploited to do life-saving work. These people deserve proper compensation!

It’s not just the USA, either. Mass graves are being dug around the world, but the USA is the world’s biggest prison nation. Our people fill these prisons, while we lack enough hospital beds.

It’s time for this to change - and we can start by treating people in prison doing crucial work with dignity.
