Tangerine Jones was shocked. Tired of the racism and social injustices she faced as a Black woman, she knew she had to do something before she lost her mind. She knew EXACTLY what she would do!

Like many Black women before her, she went to the kitchen. Angry and hurt, she baked and baked until she felt better. Soon, Jones discovered something incredible.

Baking not only produced treats, but it was a healing experience. Jones called her mentally healthy innovation “Rage Baking.” She wrote about it on Facebook starting in 2015, created a hashtag and an Instagram, and shared it with others.

So imagine her surprise when she saw a book on the shelves in 2018 called “Rage Baking” - written by two WHITE WOMEN! But it gets worse.

When she confronted the women and the publisher, not only did they make excuses, but they also discounted her work! After Jones’ fans and even contributors to the book stood up for Jones’ work, the racist thieves finally relented and recognized her.

As Jones learned, Black innovation changes the world, and culture vultures are always on the lookout for opportunities to monetize our ideas. We must always seek to protect and support our ideas and defend them from colonizers!
