They Filed A Lawsuit Against These Police For Taking Their Personal Items

Multiple shooting survivors are filing a lawsuit after the Baltimore Police Department refused to return their personal items well after their shootings had happened. When we say items, we don’t mean your typical evidence. We mean clothes, cash, car keys, belts – even wigs!

The police department told one victim that they couldn’t return her keys, phone, and $400 … because of the COVID-19 pandemic? Her attorney says that’s bogus – and that the department won’t even return their calls.

But this actually isn’t new with these police.

Back in 2014, a study found that police officers stole more things from civilians than literal burglars! We’re talking BILLIONS of dollars worth.

In Baltimore, the officers’ excuse was “evidentiary property” – a policy that pretty much says they can take whatever they want, even if it has nothing to do with evidence.

To take it even further, some officers go as far as arresting people just so they can take their stuff as “evidence” … and then sell it for profit!

From murders to mass incarceration, police officers already cause too much grief for us. They kill our loved ones, take our tax dollars, get donations from big corporations, AND they’re stealing our stuff? This is another reason why this system isn’t working. They need to be defunded!
