You Won't See This Show The Same Now

Thanks to Ava Duvernay’s ‘When They See Us’ series on Netflix about the Central Park Five, people are getting EXPOSED. Most notably, former prosecutor Linda Fairstein, who went out of her way to frame the five Black teens. But, with great exposure comes great risk. Sometimes things come out people didn’t want to know.

Linda Fairstein inspired the hit show ‘Law and Order: SVU.’ She even wrote a USA Today op-ed in 2018 titled, “‘The Real SVU’: We kicked open the courtroom doors and got justice for sex-crime victims.” The sub-header says “I inspired 'Law and Order: SVU' 20 years ago.” YIKES!

Linda goes on to talk about her relationship to the team that makes the show happen. The show’s star Mariska Hargitay even described Fairstein as a “dear friend” in a 2016 tweet. NBC declined to comment on the situation.

This isn’t really that surprising. The military and police influence a lot of the shows that depict them because they want to make sure they’re shown in a positive light. From Marvel movies to SVU, authorities go out of their way to influence Hollywood - which influences the masses.

It’s worth noting that someone as crooked as Linda Fairstein got to influence SVU. We should all wonder what other racist, terrible people are getting to influence the media we all consume!
