It’s so easy to see “fake news,” and read racist, hateful material these days. It’s all over Facebook and YouTube. But should major book retailers be profiting off of racism, too?

The answer is NO, according to the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), who recently called on Amazon, Barnes And Noble, and other booksellers to stop selling blatantly racist, hateful books!

Major corporations like Amazon don’t care about us, though, because all they care about is MONEY!

But there ARE companies we can support that DO care about us: Black-owned businesses like Black bookstores.

You don’t have to worry about finding white supremacist garbage at your local Black bookstore. And you don’t have to feel guilty about supporting a company like Amazon that doesn’t care about you.

We have to invest in our own and quit supporting businesses that happily line their pockets with profits made from racism. Check out your local Black bookstore - it likely needs your business!

We have a quick favor to ask:

PushBlack is a nonprofit dedicated to raising up Black voices. We are a small team but we have an outsized impact:

  • We fight for CRIMINAL JUSTICE REFORM to protect our community.
  • We run VOTING CAMPAIGNS that reach over 10 million African-Americans across the country.

And as a nonprofit, we rely on small donations from subscribers like you.

With as little as $5 a month, you can help PushBlack raise up Black voices. It only takes a minute, so will you please ?
