Charles Anderson is a cop in Muskegon, Michigan, but recent news let’s us know he shouldn’t be. A Black man touring his home (that’s for sale) found an application to the KKK and other racist memorabilia like confederate flags. That’s bad enough, but this story gets even worse.
The man who exposed him, Rob Mathis, was with his wife and he was THREATENED after he posted what happened on Facebook, making this a national story. MLive/Muskegon Chronicle reported that he said police notified him and his family of a “credible threat against their lives.”
The officer in question, Charles Anderson, is on paid administrative leave. He’s under investigation for this but also because he KILLED an unarmed Black man in 2009 and the Black community never got the answers it deserved. So, why does he still have a job at this point?
Muskegon Chief Jeffrey Lewis says he’s not sure Anderson has violated any departmental guidelines.
So… an officer is a white supremacist and it’s no big deal? That says a lot about this police force and their own policy, which states their behavior shouldn’t “undercut public trust.”
We know that no city, town, or state needs to have any white supremacist cops that are able to have authority over Black people and our lives.
