#1 – Eugenics
Proud white supremacist Walter Plecker built his legacy on the sterilization and murder of Black people and Native Americans. Plecker’s 1935 letter to Walter Gross, the director of Germany’s Bureau of Eugenics, outlined his racial purity laws – and were the blueprint for Hitler’s sterilization of Jews.
#2 – Native American Holocaust
Hitler studied America’s removal, forced assimilation, and genocide of Native Americans – especially forcing them onto reservations. He soon did the same, creating Jewish “ghettos” – a term we still use to describe Black Americans’ often-decrepit neighborhoods.
#3 - Zyklon B Gas
In 1917, “Zyklon B” gas was used by racist border agents to “disinfect” Mexican immigrants’ bedding and clothes. The Mexicans themselves were “disinfected” with gasoline, kerosene and acid. Zyklon B gas was later used in the gas chambers of Nazi Germany.
#4 – The Nuremberg Law
This law criminalized race-mixing and interracial marriage, and created “race crimes.” The Nuremberg law outlawed German citizens from marrying or having sexual relations with Jews, Black Germans, or Africans. Nazis studied American Jim Crow laws to help craft it.
American white supremacy would like us to condemn the Nazis, but turn a blind eye to how America influenced, inspired, and in many ways has continued the Nazis’ white supremacist regime. But we refuse!
