Donald Trump has been friendly with white supremacists since day one. Now, there’s more coming out about just how deep his ties to white nationalism are. And this time it’s thanks to leaked emails.
White House senior adviser Stephen Miller sent emails with links to white supremacist articles and praised racist policies HUNDREDS of times.
According to Vox, they were sent to a former editor of the alt-right site Breitbart while he served as an aide for then-U.S. Sen. Jeff Sessions, as reported by the Southern Poverty Law Center.
The connection to Breitbart and its racism isn’t new. Trump got into office thanks to the help of former White House Chief Strategist Steve Bannon, who co-founded the far-right white supremacist website.
Miller’s added connection shows just how deep this issue is.
Donald Trump has defended white supremacists before on multiple occasions. His affiliation with such groups isn’t necessarily news, but it's terrifying to witness just how deep this sort of thinking is spread throughout the White House.
The racism is as deeply entrenched as ever.
As for Stephen Miller, he’s being asked to resign - and needs to.
But the bigger picture is this: Trump’s presidency has been a disaster for Black America. While it’s disturbing that these sort of people are able to create ANY policy that affects our lives, it’s been an age-old problem we have to keep addressing.
And trust us, we will.
