After a white police officer pulled him over in Virginia, D.C. firefighter Elon Wilson spent over two years in prison for illegal gun and drug possession. But he was recently released – after the same officer came under FBI investigation for what the judge called “an extensive trail of fraud and deception!”
And that trail includes over 400 people.
Officer Jonathan Freitag lied in this report, like countless other police officers, that Wilson drove over a yellow line, had tinted windows, and that his car smelled of marijuana. And that’s not all.
Freitag also allegedly stole drugs from the police evidence room! So, before he could get fired from Fairfax County, he quit. Then, that same summer, he hopped over to Brevard County in Florida, to continue his reign of terror – including a DUI!
The judge called Freitag’s lies and Wilson’s case a “system malfunction.” But, it’s not – the criminal “justice” system is actually working perfectly. It was designed in the first place to oppress us.
We know Freitag can't be the only officer who's lied about racially motivated traffic stops – which account for 25% of police shootings of unarmed Black men. So, if we multiply 400 by the amount of officers who've lied? The answer is a number we'll never know, and the reason why we need to abolish this system altogether.
