Voting is supposed to be a right – but for many, it’s not. In Florida, the people came together to restore voting rights for people with prior convictions!

The state government tried to stop this, though, with a modern-day poll tax – and now our people need help.

Thanks to fines and fees, hundreds of thousands of people, many of them Black, still can’t vote. We know why they did this, but there are steps we can take to make sure all Black votes count the way they should.

You can donate to organizations like Free The Vote. They’ve raised millions to reduce the financial barriers our community faces.

You can also fundraise on your own, too! But there’s a catch: the deadline is approaching quickly and people have to act NOW.

Let’s help Free The Vote get as much money as possible by SEPTEMBER 28TH!

Ask your friends, family, and community members to do what they can to get fines and fees paid. It affects ALL of us if these battleground state voters are held back.

Black voters have a vast amount of influence – that’s why the Black vote is always suppressed.

Every American should be able to vote. There’s nothing controversial about that. Let’s make sure that’s the case this year and in the future!

We have a quick favor to ask:

PushBlack is a nonprofit dedicated to raising up Black voices. We are a small team but we have an outsized impact:

  • We reach tens of millions of people with our BLACK NEWS & HISTORY STORIES every year.
  • We fight for CRIMINAL JUSTICE REFORM to protect our community.
  • We run VOTING CAMPAIGNS that reach over 10 million African-Americans across the country.

And as a nonprofit, we rely on small donations from subscribers like you.

With as little as $5 a month, you can help PushBlack raise up Black voices. It only takes a minute, so will you please ?
