Scrutiny Of The Supreme Court Comes Over Justice

An Unelected SCOTUS shouldn’t decide elections.

None of us voted for Supreme Court justices. They’re nominated by the president! The Supreme Court gave the 2000 election to Republicans – and could do the same in 2020. Justices are ruled by POLITICS, not by people.

Justices shouldn’t serve for life.

Supreme Court justices are there for LIFE! The president can choose to nominate who he pleases, and we’re stuck with them until they pass away. That’s absurd – if someone isn’t fit, they shouldn’t have that power.

Justices shouldn’t decide who has rights.

It’s all good when the Supreme Court decides in our favor, but if the court is stacked against us with anti-Black justices, then that’s VERY bad. The Supreme Court has the power to discriminate if it chooses to. No one should have that power!

People should decide what’s best.

If there’s a popular demand supported by people, the Supreme Court can overrule it if it pleases. People should make decisions about what’s best for us without judicial review. The court can be biased in favor of politics and power.

They shouldn’t have the last word.

Times, needs, and people are always changing. The Supreme Court cannot competently make decisions that always reflect this. The court has too many undemocratic aspects to even pretend that this is possible. We need to have more of a say in our own lives!
