#1 Raleigh, NC

Raleigh is one of the most diverse cities in the state. The unemployment rate is low and there are a wealth of job opportunities there along with great schools. It’s become one of the most popular cities for Black people to move to.

 #2 Richmond, VA

Richmond hosts great neighborhoods like east Chesterfield that may be attractive to Black families. It’s a city where half the population is made up of families and there’s plenty of activities for Black families in particular.

#3 Lansing, MI

Lansing is slowly becoming a growing place for Black families. Its unemployment rate is its lowest in over 15 years, making it a great place to find new employment and build a new life.

#4 Washington D.C.

The home of America’s politics also has a rich Black history and Black culture that exudes charm throughout the area. There are many government, medical, and educational opportunities here.

There will always be challenges for our families, but with the right community and opportunities around us, we can make it through anything.

We have a quick favor to ask:

PushBlack is a nonprofit dedicated to raising up Black voices. We are a small team but we have an outsized impact:

  • We reach tens of millions of people with our BLACK NEWS & HISTORY STORIES every year.
  • We fight for CRIMINAL JUSTICE REFORM to protect our community.
  • We run VOTING CAMPAIGNS that reach over 10 million African-Americans across the country.

And as a nonprofit, we rely on small donations from subscribers like you.

With as little as $5 a month, you can help PushBlack raise up Black voices. It only takes a minute, so will you please ?
