U.S. police are among the most deadly worldwide. They shoot, kill, AND imprison more than many other wealthy nations combined!

It’s so bad, U.S. police kill more in DAYS than many countries do in YEARS. Seeing the numbers only makes it worse.

U.S. cops kill at a rate of about 33.5 people per ten million. That may not seem like much, but it’s a LOT compared to other countries like Canada, at 9.8, and Germany at 1.3. It’s even worse when you look at an entire year’s data.

U.S. police killed over 1,000 people in 2019! U.S. police killed over 1,000 people in 2019! In recent years, Canadian police have killed 36, the UK was at 3, and Norway was at ZERO. We have way more deaths in police custody and higher arrest rates, too. Surprisingly, it’s NOT just because of racism."

Black people ARE racially profiled and DO experience disproportionate deaths at the hands of police in wealthy countries like the UK, France, and others

Black people experience police brutality worldwide – but we’re not KILLED at the same rates everywhere. Policing itself is part of the problem, but there’s more to it.

Even though racism has no borders, other societies are doing what the U.S. pretends is impossible - killing and imprisoning MUCH less. We can’t allow the U.S. to pour funds into killing us while other nations prioritize education, social safety, and public health!
