We Have To Fight For Girls Like Her

At this point, many people across the country know Cyntoia Brown’s name but do they know Chrystul Kizer? Her case is almost EXACTLY the same, but not enough people know her story. It’s outrageous and she needs our help to get out of this devastating situation.

Chrystul Kizer is a teen that was being abused by a 34-year-old man. This same man, who was wanted on charges of child pornography and sex with underage girls, ended up dead - Chrystul shot him after complaining about his advances. Now, she’s facing life in prison.

What Chrystul did isn’t viewed as self-defense even though it’s clear that an underage girl is INCAPABLE of being a consensual relationship with a grown man. Girls like Chrystul need help and resources because of what they’ve been through, not punishment.

Black girls are disproportionately sex trafficked and abused at higher rates than their white peers and we all know what happens when we end up in court. This is why our collective action around cases like this matters. While we’re fighting for Chrystul, we’re also fighting for much more here.

We can do something about this. District Attorney Michael D. Graveley can end all this TODAY by dropping the charges. Sign the petition to let him know this isn’t right and tell him to drop the charges against Chrystul!
