As a community, we share love. For us, love’s not just about romance or sex, either. It’s something deeper.

Begun as a spiritual holiday in the Black community, Black Love Day is rooted in practicing love for "the Creator, Self, and Family, within the Black Community, and for the Black Race.” Celebrated on February 13, it’s a powerful expression of the Black community’s unity, support, and joy.

This day nurtures the deep connection between the Black family and our Black communities, promoting mutual respect and kindness. Black Love Day encourages the forging of deep emotional bonds and the creation of spaces where joy and healing can thrive.

This is a day where we can genuinely spread joyful energy that affirms the spirit of solidarity. It is a reminder that love is empowerment. It binds us in a world that wants to see us divided. In any relationship, building love strengthens communal bonds, which, in turn, can intensify joy.

The love we experience is a beautiful act of resistance. While we continue to be threatened by disenfranchisement, malicious lies, and denied our place in this nation, the one thing that nothing can take from us is the love and joy we have for ourselves and each other.

We have a quick favor to ask:

PushBlack is a nonprofit dedicated to raising up Black voices. We are a small team but we have an outsized impact:

  • We reach tens of millions of people with our BLACK NEWS & HISTORY STORIES every year.
  • We fight for CRIMINAL JUSTICE REFORM to protect our community.
  • We run VOTING CAMPAIGNS that reach over 10 million African-Americans across the country.

And as a nonprofit, we rely on small donations from subscribers like you.
