Musicians like George Clinton, DJ Spooky, and Derek May are some of the most innovative artists in history, using technology to push music further.  How incredible would it be if we could sit them down and one place and learn from them?

The Last Angel Of History isn’t a documentary. It’s Afrofuturism at its finest, using scientific fiction to draw parallels between our history and the issues we  still face today. For a movie that was released in 1996, it was well ahead of its time.

The main character of the movie travels across time to search for a code that holds the key to his future. However, the different moments of time  held importance, displaying how music pushed innovation further and  was a result of our struggle.

One of the quotes used in the film is: “The line between social reality and science fiction is an optical illusion.” And this quote is decrypted throughout the movie, for example,  drawing parallels between alien abduction and slavery.

The Last Angel Of History showed the deep connections between  our history and our future. Imagine how our actions today are contributing to Black liberation in the future. Are you on code?
