What Matters Most To Black People In 2020?

The 2020 Presidential election is going to be one of the most important in our lifetimes.

It will determine whether Donald Trump and his allies continue to enact their racist, sexist, classist agenda - or if a challenger will get into the White House to hopefully go a different direction.

But just because Democrats will spend the next year courting the Black vote, doesn’t mean they’ve got our best interests at heart.

The only reason politicians are talking about things like reparations and criminal justice reform is because of the tireless work of Black activists - like folks in the Black Lives Matter Global Network.

Black Lives Matter just released their vision for Black liberation in 2020 and beyond. Do their priorities match up with yours?

Their primary goal is to get Black voices heard in politics. That means getting our people - especially young people - educated about elections, and VOTING for what matters to us.

What matters to BLM? Racial injustice, police brutality, criminal justice reform, Black immigration, economic injustice, and more.

To show a more complete vision for what they think matters in 2020, they shared a compelling short film on the new BLM website

Which of these issues is most important to you? What’s missing from the platform? You can join the conversation at #WhatMatters2020 on social media too!
